Photos like this...

Are used as a guide to paint this..."Looking Up!" is painted in watercolor, and the branches were blown onto the paper using a straw.....( i learned this cool technique while teaching in a local daycare. Hey! it works! ;)

Blowing paint through a straw technique? wow, never heard of that but it makes sense! Great painting!

Hi PengPeng! Thanks! Actually, in this technique, i worked on dry watercolor paper, and pooled a bit of the color on the paper, and then blew the pigment across the paper, directing it with the straw and my breath. It makes for a jerky, uncontrolled line to form, and i used this to form the branches. I can be "jerky" at times, but not when i am trying to apply it to painting! hahaha
