Tilly-Kitty

This is the newest sock doll, Tilly-Kitty.
I made her for my sister in law Ann, who is struggling with Alzheimer's Disease. She has always loved stuffed animals and cats, so i hope this little one will bring her some joy...In the meantime i am working on the embroidered faces, and i like them better than the painted ones on the sock material. What do you think?

I think she's gorgeous and Ann will love it, what a sweetheart you are to make it for her, she will be thrilled. I like both the embroidered faces and painted, I don't think one is better than the other.
Glad you love that SOck book too, it's so beautiful, and the ways it's done, like a story some of it. Thanks for the sweet comment about Beetroot, my room and mess. Happy to know you are the same with mess!

Thank you Jess...Your comments mean a lot to me as i really admire your work. The Sock and Glove book was such a huge inspiration to me! I still make the dolls from that book as is, but then it gave me the know how to go off in my own direction with my own patterns. I just sold a little mouse doll to a sweet little girl at my daughter's shop and that made me so happy! The little toys bring so much joy. I just wish i had more time to work on the dolls. I have a laundry basket full of socks and gloves just waiting to become something beautiful!:)

Thanks Ladies for the helpful comments. I really appreciate your input. I have been asking almost everyone who sees the dolls for their opinions and get mixed reviews...some like the paint, but some prefer the embroidery. So i guess i will continue to do both-maybe let the doll tell me which way to go!I think some will have button or safety eyes and noses too, tho that makes it off limits for the smaller children..
