Another Goodbye

Just 12 days after we celebrated a huge milestone...Gipetto's 20th Birthday

Geeps let me know that today he was ready to leave his old tired body behind

It seems like just yesterday this picture was taken, when Gipetto, and his brothers Zebedee and Amos Moses were just puppies, and i was much younger. 20 years is a long time, and Gipetto had to say goodbye to each of his brothers who were also his best friends. Today i told him all about what it would be like to be free of his old body. He could run again and see again, maybe even fly. And he could see his brothers again too. And someday, i would join him when it was my time to leave this old body too.
Run with your brothers my good old friend. I will see you again...

Oh Mare.
I am so so sorry.
What an incredibly wonderful life Gipetto had with you, you must have so many happy memories.
I am very glad he had you for his mum and that he was able to celebrate his 20th birthday.
Run free sweet boy.

Thank you my friends. Gipetto was fortunate to be feeling well enough these last few weeks, but i could see he was failing. He left his body peacefully and easily...Still, it is hard to be with someone for so many years and suddenly...they are gone.Even when you know they will be free and happy again, making that decision is very very hard. I will have to watch Pollyanna. She was very bonded to him.

So enjoyed your words about your dog and what waited for him. Have said farewell to many cats.

Thank you Ellan...saying goodbye is the downside of saying hello i guess. But i really do believe it is only a temporary goodbye. When connected by Love, you never really are separated...
