My first loaf baked in a bread pan...
Mom Loves cinnamon raisin bread, so i took the basic recipe... rolled it out, sprinkled it generously with sugar, fresh ground cinnamon and sweet raisins...Then i rolled it up, tucked the ends in and let it set to rise...
It smelled like Heaven! And Mom and Dad said it was delicious...
This little loaf of boule looked like a little valentine to me! How can something be so pretty, smell so good and taste so delicious! Remember, these bread recipes came from this book... Have you checked it out yet?

Thanks Melissa! Really, this bread is SO easy to make and bake...It practically does all the work for you! I used to make bread the old fashioned way and i know what a difference this method has made for me. Give it a try!
Looks wonderful! I'm a bread enthusiast but sadly I'm now restricted to only whole wheat/grain. I'll be trying the artisan bread recipe though, with wheat flour! :)
I love baking bread. I've found you can just about add anything you like to a basic bread recipe, as long as you adjust the moisture. I don't bake as much as I should. You loaves are gorgeous!
Hey Kelli, I'll look up the recipe for whole wheat bread for you...Just in case there are differnet ratios to that recipe with the different flour. Ok~ I just checked and it is the same recipe, but they say that because of the natural oils in whole wheat flour, the crust will not be as "crackly" as with white flour. Go for it!
Hi CM! I love baking my own bread too. This whole baking thing is all a part of my decision to become more self sufficient in my own little way. Because of my circumstances, i cannot see me moving to the country to homestead...which has always been my dream. So i'll bring the country here where i live!(all a part of my philosophy to bloom where i am planted) After that big power outage we had weeks ago, i realized how much i depend on electricity. TOO much! I need to start researching ways to become less reliant.
Those are some amazing looking loaves especially for a first.
Oh, those are beautiful. I can practically smell them from here! I've been baking up a storm lately, too...it's clearly *that* time of year. Once the weather improves, my kitchen won't see any action for months! My husband better eat well while he can! lol
