Beautiful Blooms

My orchids are blooming! Both orchids were given to me as gifts for Mother's Day these last two years. This orchid was given to me by my son in law Ben, and tho it was in rough shape when it came here, a little love and a lot of patience paid off with these beautiful flowers.

This orchid was gifted to my by my daughter Kate, and has given me the pleasure of it's lovely blooms now for the last two years.
And this little flower was given to us by my daughter Carly and her partner Jeremy just seven months ago, and i cannot describe the pleasure she has brought to the family.... I just wanted to share all this beauty with you all this morning...

Oh Mare- thanks so much for stopping by my place and leaving a comment! I love meeting new people.
I'm enjoying my visit with you so much- your artwork is beautiful. The photo of the orchids is just stunning- so much color in them.
Just wanted to let you know I stopped by- I'll be back to visit you again, soon!

Gorgeous orchids! You must really have a green thumb! My orchids NEVER bloom again, they just end up in the garage. I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong.

Murray, she's got the greenest thumb I know. How mine turned black while ripening in the womb is beyond me.

Thanks everyone! Murray, i think the secret to keeping orchids healthy and happy is ignoring them a bit. Only water them when they are dry. And it seems like forever until they do bloom, but once they do the blooms last for months!Almost every time i water all my plants i put a few drops of a vitamin called Superthrive in the mix. It is not a plant food, but a vitamin. It smells like baby vitamins so i would say it is heavy on vitamin B. My orchids love this window, which is a northern exposure. It has bright but very indirect light. The african violets like it there too. My Grandmother Mary taught me everything i know about plants, and i suspect i have a little Guardian Angel help there too! ;) And Katie, you don't have a black thumb! I think you specialize in succulents, which thrive under your care. Most people water them to death!
