So sweet, Mare~ and your wood stove is so beautiful!

Thank you Paula! The stove is actually a gas stove that looks like a real wood burning stove. It is made of cast iron, and it does get pretty hot! But apparently not too hot for the fur babies!

Wow, I would never have known it was a gas stove if you hadn't said. Do you have to pay a lot for gas over there? Over here it is so extortionately expensive that old people are actually freezing to death because they cannot affort to heat their homes. So tragic.

Hi Lynne, well, gas isn't cheap here, but this little stove is so efficient, we heat our whole main floor with it, and keep the house heat down to 60 degrees. In essence the house heat never has to kick on! We also have a small electric heater in the kitchen( a cold room generally) and turn that on when it is very cold, like today! Brrrr....What a terrible thing that people fall between the cracks because they are poor/elderly. It happens here too. I've heard of elderly folks eating cat food because they have no money to buy groceries after paying for heat. What a shame that we live in such a wealthy powerful country, and these things are allowed to happen. I have great faith in President Obama that some of these injustices are corrected in the next 4 years.

I hope so too Mare.
I think it is a very sad state of affairs when you read one person in the world has £240 BILLION and someone else has nothing to eat.
Greed has become an epidemic in today's society unfortunately.
Okay, rant over :)

Lynne, rant on. It is the only way we can get the word out to enough people to make a difference. I think i am going to get more involved politically, socially, globally. It is getting harder and harder for me to swallow all this inequality...Love, mare

wow, your cat DOES like it hot, doesn't she?? My sister's cat used to lay right on the heat registers (nice for her, but not nice for everyone else in the room)!
