I Loved these guys...Especially John Sebastian. It always felt like Summertime music to me. They were kind of goofy and fun. High water pants and bad dancing..Didn't try to be sexy or take themselves too seriously. It was just good clean music. I forgot he played an autoharp in this song...It takes a minute for the video to start so just hang in there...

I actually don't remember seeing this group (pleeeeeze tell me I was too young, LOL). But I remember the name the Loving Spoonful. Were they American? I think those 60's groups all thought they were the bees-knees but so do they all :)

Hi Lynne, Yes the Lovin' Spoonful was/is an American band. They weren't huge but big enough for several chart topping hits, like Summer in the City, You didn't have to be so nice, and a few others. I just loved their sound...I actually encountered John Sebastian in a roadside diner on a Summer trip with my family when i was in high school.
