What's Bloomin! ~ Clematis

This is one of my oldest perennials i have here. It is a variety called "Jackamani" i think, and it used to belong to my Mother in Law Fran. She planted the vine in her yard and it never bloomed for her. So, i moved it for her to what i thought was a better spot, and it still did not bloom...

Finally she gave my Father in Law permission to mow it down so i dug it up and brought it here. And ever since it has lived here it has bloomed every year. It is one of the survivors of the construction that went on here for a few years.

Amazing, isn't it? I bought two more clematis vines last Summer at the Farmer's Market and they are coming up too, tho they are not blooming yet. Lots of buds tho!

Ooooh- that is beautiful, Mare! The color of the clematis are always such a deep shade of purple- they're real eye-catchers!

Thanks Paula! It is pretty! I have 2 new vines i bought from the Farmer's Market last year getting ready to bloom for the first time here-one with pink ruffly flowers and one with tiny white star like flowers. That one is supposed to have a scent too! Can't wait!
