Favorite Things (One's Hot, One's Cool!)

Hey all you tea drinkers out there! My Blogger friend Melissa turned me on to this company. It is called Adagio Teas and it is a very nice company! I bought the starter kit with the little teapot infuser, and a selection of green teas and i absolutely LOVE it!
You simply add about 1/2 teaspoon of their super fresh, delicious loose tea to the little pot along with some fresh boiling water and let it steep for about 2-3 minutes(or longer for a stronger tea) and then when your tea is steeped enough, set the pot on top of your tea cup and all the fresh delicious tea drains into your cup and the leaves and sediment from the loose tea stays trapped inside the pot! I'm ordering a few of these for my tea drinking friends as gifts. And while i am at it, i'll order some more of their lovely teas for me too! I want to try their Chai....

And this is my new Rival Ice Cream Machine! It makes a quart of fresh, home made ice cream whenever you want it! You simply store the canister in the back of your freezer to keep it frozen and ready for use, then mix up a super easy ice cream recipe(a few recipes are included in the enclosed booklet) snap on the top, turn on the motor and watch the ice cream mixture thicken...

Here we are making my favorite...coffee ice cream.....
The motor works a paddle and whips the ice cream into a heavenly sweet concoction

AND you get to lick the paddle!
After about 40 minutes you just scoop out the finished ice cream and store it in your freezer. So far i have made old fashioned vanilla(a cooked base with an egg in the mix) the a quick and easy vanilla and the coffee. DELICIOUS! What are YOUR new favorite things???

Hey me too! I've been wanting an ice cream maker as well but, don't know where I would put it in our tiny storage challenged house.

My favorite new things are a pair of bright stripey knee high socks that my mom bought me while she was here. Oh how I love a stripey sock!

Okay, here it goes. I bought the bread book, a pizza paddle, an oven thermometer, and 10 pounds of flour.

Wish me luck! I'm in this because of you! Next thing you know I'll probably start knitting.

Thanks for the great ideas.

Hey Hot Belly Mama! I LOVE your new name! Will it go back to the original after the baby is born? ;)This ice cream is very nice...If you use less fatty dairy ingredients, the creaminess is affected, so i just use the whole milk and whipping cream and only eat a little bit....Lola Nova, i don't think this ice cream maker takes up much room, but it only makes a quart of ice cream at a time and anyone with a family would be spending an awful lot of time cranking out the ice cream to feed the hungry! I think there are bigger machines available, but then they take up so much more room...Hmmmm....Laura, you are gonna love that bread book! It is so easy! And you are going to feel great about becoming more self sufficient by making your own bread. Oh and...You would LOVE knitting! hahaha

Oh my goodness, what wonderful new "toys", Mare!! I would LOVE the tea kit, and Hubby would love the ice cream maker! Where did you find them? I may need to own both of them!
(And save me some of the coffee flavored ice cream- I'll be right over! LOL)
