Gipetto's Christmas

If you look at this picture you see our little Christmas tree and a few gifts under it. But the biggest and best gift under that tree is just to the right of it. My old buddy Gipetto. Geeps has been slowly but surely slowing down and has had a few more aches and pains than usual. But at the age of almost 20 years young, i guess that is to be expected. He still loves to eat and bark and still tries to make love to his girlfriend, Pollyanna.

I am so grateful to still have my old friend here with me in this new year....

I just love older dogs, they looks so creaky and wise. Gipetto is adorable, I am so glad he has someone like you to take good care of him. I'm sure you treasure every day with him.

Thank you Lynne...I love my Gipetto to pieces. He was one of three half brothers that i miss so much. For he and i, each day is a new beginning and a Blessing. And when he is not happy being here any more,i'll help him with all the love he deserves...I have been thinking that i would like to get involved in rescue work. And one of the things i am thinking about is taking in an older dog that has lost his or her home for whatever reason. The wheels are turning....

Hi Mare
I am having trouble commenting on a couple of your posts, blogger just says it is not available.
One was your christmas decoration post and this morning it was the trees post.
I think that is a wonderful idea to rescue or foster an older dog that nobody wants.
I know of one lady in US who took in a 16 year old chihuahua that her 'family' had dumped at a high kill shelter (reward for a lifetime of love she gave them). Anyhoo, this little angel lived to be almost 21 years old and the most wonderful friend she had ever had.
