Here's a typical scene in the kitchen around here. Safou, our African Grey, is a "free range" parrot, and seems to be bound and determined to be a dog and join the pack. The problem with that is, if one of the dogs gets too close he or she will be nipped in the nose or butt, depending on what end presents itself to Mr. Grumpy

Oh my gosh!! Your pets are so cute! I can't believe your dogs don't try to hurt the bird!! My Pugs would try to kill a bird for sure!! LOL.
How wonderful! These is nothing worse than seeing a beautiful parrot cooped up in a cage all the time.
They are such fantastic characters aren't they.

Hi Pattie, Well, my dogs and cat are a little afraid of Safou. He nips hard! The dogs get annoyed with him sometimes when he tries to be one of them but in general it's all ok. I would never bring an adult cat in here. We start with tiny kittens who inevitably get nipped and then they respect the beak!
Hi Lynne, i agree with you...There are times when i worry he may get hurt around here...one of the dogs may retaliate a bit too rough or he may get run over buy the wheelchair, or chew the wrong thing(like an electrical cord...he's done a number on my door jams and a cabinet i have in the kitchen)But he would be so unhappy locked up "safe" in his cage...so we let him live large here. It is interesting....
*LOL* That is too funny, Mare!
