Rocking in the kitchen with St. Francis, while eating a cheese stick...

This week has been pretty rough. Bill is still in the hospital, making slow progress, but making progress none the less! Still running back and forth to the hospital to spend the day with him, and coming home late, staying up even later with the dogs who have been cooped up all day long, and dragging out of bed to start all over again has been...interesting this week.
But no matter what is going on in my world, when Lola comes to visit, the sun seems to come out and shine bright and nothing can keep me from smiling, right down to my toes.
She has discovered my St Francis statue on my altar, and has taken a shining to him. She likes to look at the little birds that are perched on his head, shoulder, hands and feet.
She reminds me that no matter what is going on, the world is a magical place
that rocking in a rocking chair reminds me of swinging on a swing in the park
and that life is just too much fun to sit still and worry for too long....

Oh that beautiful precious face! What light and joy those small people bring into our lives.
I know it seems there is no time to stop and take a breath but, perhaps a deep healing breath of love for yourself is in order. I am sending out prayers of love and strength to you and your family.

Lola and her statue remind me of Stella, when she was about that age she saw a large Buddha statue in a garden cafe and spent ages hugging and talking to it. It took us forever to get her to leave. She still has a great affinity for certain statues.

Pictures of Lola always make me smile - I can only imagine the joy she brings you in person!
She is so fortunate to have a grandma who treasures her so much!
Please give healing wishes to Bill on my behalf. Hang in there, Mare - I'm feeling for you.
