It's a Messy Job (but somebody's gotta do it!)

On the days her Mom has to go to work, Lola comes over to spend some time and i fix her a nice breakfast. While she is eating we read our favorite stories...Lola's Aunt Kate bought her some nice bamboo utensils to practice eating with and Lola loves to work with them. Here she is eating scrambled eggs, homemade bread, blueberries, grapes and some yogurt.

Our Lo is a two fisted girl! She likes to use both the spoon and fork, at the same time.

But it's a lot of work to pick the food up with the utensils and after a while she starts to get tired....

That when her hands come in...well...handy!

By now there are scrambled eggs in her lap and blueberries rolling on the floor...The dogs camp out under her high chair and have been well fed. Lola likes to share with her friends...

There's yogurt in her ears, her hair, everywhere...but look at that cute little sticky face...

"All done Gumma" she says... Now it's time for the clean up! Hmmm...Where do i start?

She can even say,"Gumma" when her mouth is full! What a beautiful child; you are so fortunate to be able to spend time with her. My grandchildren call me "Omi", a German version of "Gumma".
I have four grandsons and one granddaughter, ranging from 20 to 3. I'm learning how to post photos.........

Hi Mare,
I was tagged to write about "7 Things that I love" in my blog. Can I tag you? You might have done this a few months ago, I forget. But I'd love to see what you have to say!

I was noticing her two handedness when she was coloring, too! She knows how to get things done! :)

Call me paranoid, but would you consider cutting the grapes into quarter pieces? I remember when my kids were little, we were told to do that, because a grape is just the right size to choke a little person....getting off my soapbox now...

Hi Karin,
Believe me! There is nobody more paranoid than i am when it comes to what that little one puts in her mouth! I know it doesn't look it, but the grapes are halved, and the bigger ones quartered. i didn't bother with the blueberries as they were small. I still worry about her eating my bread that i bake as it is so dense. So i cut off the heel of the loaf and she saws thru it.
