New Goodies in the Etsy Shop!

It's been a while since i had the chance to add anything new to my little Etsy shop! Christmas orders kept me busy, but now that things have slowed down a bit, it's time to get to work on some things i've been wanting to make...Lola has been playing with her dollies more lately and asked me to make her a blanket for them. I really enjoyed making her blanket and thought, why not make a few for other little girls and their dollies??? This little granny square blanket is just the perfect size (15" X 15") for the little cradle that my girls played with when they were little. Now it is Lola's doll cradle.
I've also fallen in love with the Waldorf style dolls. These little knitted gnomes are super cute and super fun to make. I love their little pot bellies...There's nothing like a gnome to bring you Luck!
This one has a heart button around his neck in hopes that somebody will take him home as a gift for their sweetheart...
And here is another granny square dolly blanket for a bigger doll (18" X 18")
There are also a few "Twinkle Stars" that i have added to the shop. These are not toys, but made for decorative purposes.
They look sweet hanging in a window or on a wall, or hung over a baby's crib.
and they sparkle with glitter too!
And last but certainly not least is Rosie. She is not new to the shop, but she has changed her attire and put on her favorite warm scarf, because it is pretty darn cold out there! She is also carrying a crocheted heart Valentine in hopes that someone will fall in love and take her home... There are more goodies to come! Stop by for a visit!

My New Neti

Isn't it a thing of beauty?

Right around Christmas time my store bought white porcelain neti pot had an unfortunate accident and i needed to replace it fast.

So i searched thru Etsy and found Page Pottery. Their work is amazing...And this little neti pot is wonderful. As soon as it arrived i tore open the box and tried it out. I like it better than my first pot! (and i was quite attached to that one) JR and Kristen Page me and my sinuses thank you!

Been So Busy!

I had this thought that once The Paper Sparrow brick and mortar shop closed it's doors, i might have more time to concentrate on my own little Etsy shop!
(Always trying to look on the brighter side of life!)
But, i am now working harder to supply three different shops in downtown Troy NY with all different kinds of goodies!
I have these sweet and colorful cloche hats for kids and adults

and more of my Deedle Dumpling hats in colorful self striping sock yarns!

And it is Apple and Pumpkin Season once again so here are some Apple Dumpling and Pumpkin Dumpling hats too!

Something new for me...or really something "re-new"( i used to make these rugs when my kids were small) is crocheted rugs made from recycled bed sheets, t-shirts and old clothing fabric...
and of course, my favorite things to make, teddy bears and bunnies and all sorts of knitted and sewn critters! You can find these things (or place an order with me for anything you see here that you like) in my Etsy shop, or at these wonderful shops in downtown Troy NY: Anchor 5 Boutique, Artcentric, and Rust and Reason, all located on historic River Street in Troy. Anchor 5 boutique is actually in the very same storefront as the Paper Sparrow was, so it feels good to have a few things still for sale there... Troy Night Out is this Friday night. Why not come out and support the local businesses and get an early start on your Holiday shopping! Maybe we will bump into each other!

What's New in the Etsy Shop!

Now that The Paper Sparrow is a new shop (Anchor 5 Boutique) and in new hands, i am able to focus more on my own little shop with Etsy.

I've added some of my Mom's super soft, super wonderful baby blankets that she crochets. She is usually busy making these for babies in the family, but now that the family has slowed down a bit in the baby department, she has a few extra to share with the rest of the world!

Mom has been making these blankets since my first baby was born, and i actually still have the 2 blankets she made for my daughters over 30 years ago!

She works with easy care acrylic yarn that can be tossed in the washer and dryer and used again and again. These blankets make great baby shower gifts....

Also, a few more critters have joined the Etsy team! This is Rosie the lop eared bunny

and Fuzzy

and Happy. All of my knitted bunnies and teddies are made without buttons or small parts that can come loose and cause problems for small children. So they are safe for children of all ages. I have a few orders to fill for the brick and mortar shops i am working with, but will soon be adding more baby hats, scarves, jewelry and more malas and rosaries. Time to start thinking about Christmas!

The Littlest Mermaid

Look at this sweet thing...I could not resist her as she reminds me of my Lola with a tail! I love mermaids, and well, you know how i feel about Lola!

I found her at Andy's Rascals on Etsy, and i will be collecting many of her pieces....Check her out!

New Critters in the Etsy Shop!

Meet Sparky! He is a baby fire breathing dragon...and a very nice one too...

He wear a bell on his tail to remind himself that it's back there...(he used to have problems with knocking things over but the bell solved that problem!)

He is made out of a pair of soft knit gloves and stuffed with polyfil.

Sparky also had a little issue with starting things on fire, but now that he breathes mostly thru his nose, that is no longer a problem. His nostrils are made of stitch markers.

And this is Tabitha. She loves the color pink and makes friends very easily, but doesn't like to get her picture taken if you use a flash. Her eyes are very sensitive you know.

She also likes to play card games, especially "Go Fish!"
Tabitha is also a knit glove doll, stuffed with polyfil

Because they have small buttons and things that can come off, they are not intended for small children. You can find them and their other friends in my Etsy shop today!
