Daydream Believer...

The end of a part of my life...Sounds so dramatic, doesn't it? But that is how i feel today, after hearing the news that my first ever Love, Davy Jones of the Monkees, passed away of a heart attack this morning. I cannot believe it. I wore those blue and white love beads until the strand broke from wear. I had that very same face plastered all over my bedroom walls in my childhood home. Again it reminds me, nothing lasts forever. Everything changes and everything that is born eventually ceases to be. But Davy??? This 57 year old woman was just brought back to her teenage years emotionally, and i am responding to this news as if i was still a girl. Rest in Peace my favorite Daydream Believer...

Mare, it is quite sad news.

My mother and father had dinner with Davy and his wife (in the 60's) a couple of times. My mom said that he was truly a lovely person and liked him very much.

Oh Mare, we were only talking a little while ago about how we were both in love with Davy and now he has gone.
I was so shocked and saddened when I read about his death. You read about celebrities dying all the time in the paper but I know exactly what you mean, he is different somehow because he was such a big part of our lives and growing up.
Rest in peace sweet Davy.

Thanks everybody...That news knocked me for a loop yesterday. Alex, i have heard that Davy was a truly sincere and loving person. How interesting that you had a connection like that. And Paula i agree with you, you don't really know how much those memories mean to you until something happens...And Lynne, what a coincidence, huh? I guess if it is your time to go, you are blessed if you go doing something you love. Apparently he was tending to his horses when he felt ill, and that was it. God Bless Davy, his family and friends. And thank you all for all the love you've sent to me.
