I love little children...
Being around them reminds me of how much joy they can find in the simple things in life
like rocking in a rocking chair... 
When Lola was a little baby
i used to read to her and rock her to sleep in this rocker
Now, she is big enough to help me push it out into the living room and sit in it and rock all by herself
But she still likes Gumma to sit with her and read a book, and rock together....

What a sweet post. My mother rocked me when I was a baby. For many years as a child I would lie in my bed and rock back and forth to put myself to sleep.
I rocked Stella, my husband bought me a vintage rocker (much like the one in your photo) when I was pregnant. I wish we had room for it in the living room now.
Little Lola is a doll!
Seeing your little granddaughter in that rocking chair does make me feel nostalgic. I miss my little girls who are now 45 and 38. But you know, they are never too big to cuddle with me on the couch since the rocking chair would be slightly too small!
We have a great big rocking chair that used to be Mr's grannys chair! I love it and all my kids were nursed in it, takes pride of place in the lounge.
